We love hearing from our customers, and this is something that happens often. We have heard many stories of how withinUs TruMarine™ Collagen has reduced joint pain, softened fine lines and wrinkles, and minimized the appearance of scars. It is such a wonderful feeling to know that our product has helped the lives of so many! But, of all of these amazing stories, there is one in particular that has really inspired us.

Ballet dancer, turned model, turned designer, entrepreneur, trained Clinical Counsellor and now a soon to be Nutritionist- Kate Horsman shared her withinUs TruMarine™ Collagen experience with us, and how it improved her life.

Kate is a very strict vegan, but made compromises and began taking collagen after becoming ill and learning about the importance of consuming amino acids in her diet. Though Kate will share her own survival story over time, she disclosed to us how consuming collagen helped her regain strength and self confidence, making her feel good throughout her healing process.

As a nutritionist in-training, Kate is passionate about being able to help people discover the power of food and it’s key to wellness in a happy, meaningful and healthy life. Kate wants to inspire, encourage, and create change within the world of nutrition by making people aware of how we can treat disease through food. She wants to inspire you to create the life you want, with your best body.

Here is one of our favourite recipes from Kate which features withinUs TruMarine™ Collagen, the Collagen Boosting CocoMango Green Smoothie, you’ve got to try it. ENJOY!

This isn’t just for the young, maybe even more so…it’s for the young at heart. Oh collagen, you’ve given us images of lumpy lips and cheeky cheeks. but truth be told, you were a natural all along. And let’s face it, we could all use a little added glow in today’s world. Not to mention joint and bone health that will have you feeling young more importantly. Oh and I haven’t even mentioned nails and hair.

So what is it really, collagen? It’s a main structural protein found in connective tissue. Derived from the greek word “kolla” meaning glue. Makes sense right?

So that being said, you could see why it might be just a little bit important in the maintenance and even repair of all tissues, muscles, bones, and yes...SKIN! Oh, and why we get wrinkles, amongst other things is because collagen production declines with age.

So that’s when we call in for more nutrition, more support, to get on board with our skin.

We are so so so lucky that locally, in Vancouver we have, hands down the best manufacturers of collagen supplements on the market. This is NOT a sponsored post, this is just a love letter. I have so much I could share on this subject, but I will save it for another time. It’s a great story though.

Regardless, if you haven’t yet, give withinUs TruMarine™ a try. It is worth every penny, and I honestly have never loved a supplement more. In the meantime, here is a recipe I have created for glowing skin. Maybe a girl's best friend? Most likely. Using TruMarine™ in conjunction with the most powerful collagen boosting foods. You are going to shine bright like a diamond. Literally. From the inside out.

 Here’s how it works

Citrus: Helps boost collagen and elasticity in the skin via Vitamin C. Antioxidant rich to combat free radicals that cause damage to our skin.

Green Vegetables: More Vitamin C and anti oxidizing enzymes the prevent the breakdown of collagen.

Protein: Tissue repair, we need adequate protein levels in order to keep collagen production optimal.

 K, enough talking, get glowing…

3/4 cup Coconut Milk (or other non dairy milk)
1/2 cup coconut water
1 scoop TruMarine™ Collagen
1/2 cup frozen mango
1 1/2 cup frozen spinach
2 Tbs shredded coconut
Vanilla protein powder
Just blend, garnish, and glow
*note, you can add, subtract liquids as you see fit. Personally I dont think ice belongs in smoothies, but hey, knock yourself out if you like.
