Gratitude means thankfulness.

It’s about noticing simple pleasures, acknowledging everything you receive and counting your blessings. Each and every person has something to be grateful for, and having a ‘gratitude type of attitude’ shifts your focus from what is lacking in your life, to noticing everything you have been given and the abundance that is already present in it.

This week, we wanted to pay it forward and have asked some of our TruSupporters and community leaders to share what they are thankful for in their lives.

As I grew older I still wanted Banksworth, but became busier with things like school, work and more competitive sports. Today I can say that I am thankful to finally have an English Bulldog named, Banksworth and that he is allowed to come to work with me every day!

"I am grateful for so many things in my life.

Just recently I was lucky enough to travel to Myanmar, and then to Cambodia with UNICEF....both very poor countries. On both trips, I commented on how lucky I was, as a Canadian, to be born into a country with so many opportunities....where we never have to worry about heated, running water and where we have easy access to healthcare, should we need it. This is something I always took for granted, until I saw that it was such a luxury for people in many countries.

It is also not difficult to feel grateful for living in a peaceful country, when so often we hear about wars being fought in many parts of our world. I can't imagine the fear that so many must deal with on a daily basis....something we will surely never comprehend.

I am grateful to be living in such a beautiful city, with many friends and my family.... and also grateful to have the opportunity to be able to travel as much as I do, to experience different cultures and see how other people live."

Cristina Linden is part of UNICEF Canada’s 25th Team.

"I'm grateful to be able to do positive things with the platform I have. I stand up against bullying, raise money for charities I'm passionate about, and this year was able to help raise over $40,000.00 for my best friend’s nephew, Max. Max has ataxia and I was not only able to help raise the funds, but also generate awareness. The money came from loyal followers who at the end of the day are strangers - generous strangers who we appreciate. It meant a lot to the family and it means a lot to me. This is a picture of Max and his new therapy dog.
Warms my heart."

Kaitlyn Bristowe is best known as the 11th season Bachelorette- the popular TV series on ABC.

The benefits of practicing gratitude are abundant. It is excellent for your physical and emotional health- keeping you positive and grounded. Although it takes some practice, if we start to incorporate an attitude of gratitude in our daily lives, it is a habit you won’t soon want to break.

Here at withinUs, we are grateful for the opportunity to start a business in our hometown, and be in a position to give back to our community and charities that are near and dear to our heart.

We are grateful for our amazing, loyal customers, retailers and supporters. Without them, we would not be in a position to provide a product and brand we love and stand behind, and for that, we are Tru-ly grateful.

And last - but certainly not least - we are grateful to be part of an amazing team. We all love each other and what we do, and we sure have a lot of fun together in the process.

What are you thankful for?
