About the Role
We are looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Specialist who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution to lead our email and SMS marketing programs. This is a high-impact, revenue-driving role responsible for building and optimizing customer journeys that support acquisition, engagement, retention, and long-term brand loyalty at withinUs®.
You will own a high-volume email and SMS campaign calendar in Klaviyo, manage and optimize automated lifecycle flows, and continuously identify opportunities to improve performance through segmentation, personalization, testing, and industry best practices.
Working closely with the Marketing team and Senior Brand Manager, you will ensure every customer touchpoint at withinUs® is both on-brand and results-driven. You will use withinUs® customer insights and performance data to create meaningful communications that strengthen customer relationships and drive measurable business growth.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced e-commerce environment, is passionate about customer lifecycle marketing, and knows how to turn data into engaging, revenue-generating experiences.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
- Email & SMS become a top-performing revenue channel, with clear attribution and consistent growth
- Strong lifecycle foundation in place (welcome, post-purchase, replenishment, win-back) with measurable lift in LTV
- Improved engagement and deliverability metrics (open rates, click rates, inbox placement, unsubscribe rates)
- A clear, data-backed testing roadmap that consistently improves performance
- Sustainable list growth with high-quality subscribers across both email and SMS
- A balanced program that drives revenue while protecting brand equity and customer experience
What you will be doing
Strategy & Revenue Performance
- Own email and SMS revenue performance at withinUs® by tracking attribution across Klaviyo and Shopify, reporting on results, and making data-driven decisions to improve ROI
- Bring forward proactive recommendations on cadence, offers, and strategy, with a lifecycle lens across acquisition, retention, and win-back, while staying current on industry trends and best practices
- Partner with E-Commerce to align on revenue goals, forecasting, and promotional strategy
Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Plan, build, and execute a high-cadence promotional email calendar that drives e-commerce revenue
- Own the end-to-end campaign calendar, planning, building, QA, and deployment within Klaviyo
- Contribute to offer strategy, knowing when to promote, what to offer, and how to balance conversion goals with long-term list health
- Run A/B tests on subject lines, content, offers, and send times to understand what resonates and improve results, translating insights into action
- Report consistently on campaign performance and translate insights into clear recommendations for future sends.
Automation & Customer Journey Optimization
- Build, optimize, and scale lifecycle flows (welcome, browse abandonment, post-purchase, replenishment, win-back, etc.)
- Continuously audit and improve flows to increase relevance, conversion, and withinUs® customer experience
- Map and evolve the customer journey to reduce friction and improve retention
Segmentation & Personalization
- Develop and continuously refine a segmentation strategy by purchase behaviour, product affinity, lifecycle stage, and engagement level ensuring each send is optimized for its intended objective
- Identify and implement list growth opportunities, including on-site opt-in strategy, lead capture, and cross-channel tactics to grow a high-quality subscriber base.
SMS Marketing
- Own and grow the SMS withinUs® channel as a meaningful revenue driver
- Define SMS strategy, including cadence, content approach, and channel integration with email
- Build a testing framework to optimize performance while maintaining a strong customer experience
Deliverability, Compliance & Technical Ownership
- Own deliverability health, including list hygiene, domain reputation, and inbox placement
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, TCPA)
- Maintain best practices across consent management and subscriber experience
- Work within Klaviyo and Shopify, with a strong understanding of integrations and data flow
- Act as the internal expert on lifecycle marketing, bringing forward new ideas and best practices
What You Bring
- 3–5+ years of email marketing experience in a DTC e-commerce environment, ideally in health, wellness, or CPG
- Proficient in Klaviyo and comfortable working within Shopify to connect channel activity to revenue outcomes
- Analytically minded and able to interpret performance data, understand attribution, and translate insights into clear recommendations
- Proactive and self-directed, with strong organizational skills and a high standard for execution
- A top performer in this role will be someone who treats email and SMS as a business consistently looking for ways to grow revenue, improve the customer experience, and raise the bar on what the channels can do
- Deep experience with Klaviyo (or similar ESP) and Shopify ecosystems
- Hands-on experience building campaigns, flows, and segmentation strategies
- Solid understanding of deliverability, compliance, and email/SMS best practices
- Experience running structured A/B testing programs
- Ability to balance performance marketing with brand storytelling
- Comfortable operating as both a strategist and doer in a fast-paced environment
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with Recharge or a similar subscription management platform, with an understanding of how to leverage subscription data to inform email and SMS strategy.
- Basic HTML/CSS comfort for email template customization.
- Comfortable working in at least one of the following analytics platforms: Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics 4, or Polar Analytics.
