Science Backed Support

What does creatine do?

Creatine helps your cells recycle ATP, the fuel your cells rely on. More available energy supports muscle performance, daily vitality, and cognitive function. Although it's naturally present in red meat and fish, but many diets don't supply enough. Steady daily intake of 3 to 5 grams helps restore levels. Women often have about 70 % of the creatine stores found in men, supplementing helps close that gap and supports energy across a busy day.

Not all creatine is created equal

Why Creavitalis® matters

Most creatine monohydrate on the market is mass-produced with limited supply chain transparency. That’s why we chose Creavitalis®, a premium, micronized creatine sourced from Germany and backed by quality controls and clinical studies. Creavitalis® meets rigorous European manufacturing standards for purity, solubility, and consistency, aligned with the quality promise you expect from withinUs®:

  • Made in Germany by AlzChem Group with full traceability and batch testing

Frequently Asked Questions

What is creatine?

Creatine is a naturally occurring compound your body makes from three amino acids: arginine, glycine, and methionine, primarily in the liver and kidneys. It is also found naturally in red meat and fish like salmon, sardines, and herring.

Its primary role is energy. Creatine is stored in your muscles as phosphocreatine and used to rapidly regenerate ATP, the fuel your cells run on during high intensity effort. When your muscles need fast energy, phosphocreatine is what they reach for first.

Two of the three amino acids that make creatine, arginine and glycine, are also found in TruMarine Collagen. That is not a coincidence. It is part of why this combination works as well as it does.

What are the benefits of supplementing with creatine?

Creatine is a naturally occurring compound that helps your body produce energy at the cellular level. When your energy demands increase, such as during periods of stress, lack of sleep, recovery, or physical activity, additional creatine can help replenish your body’s stores, supporting overall vitality.

While creatine is well known in the fitness world, emerging research continues to highlight its broader wellness benefits, including potential support for:

  • Reducing feelings of fatigue and exhaustion
  • Supporting muscle preservation with age (helping combat sarcopenia)
  • Enhancing brain function, focus, and cognitive performance
  • Supporting recovery and rehabilitation
  • Contributing to overall energy and vitality

At withinUs, we’ve chosen a clinically proven form of creatine, paired with our premium TruMarine® Collagen, to help you experience these benefits in a clean, effective, and easy-to-use blend.

What is Creavitalis®?

Creavitalis® is a premium, micronized creatine monohydrate formulated for superior absorption and digestive comfort. Its fine particle size makes it easier to mix, smoother to drink, and gentler on the stomach, without the grit or bloating common with regular creatine. Creavitalis® delivers clean, effective support for muscle strength, endurance, and recovery—the withinUs® standard of quality you can trust.

Do I need to be exercising to take this?

No. Creatine supports cellular energy, muscle health, and strength whether or not you exercise. However, pairing it with physical activity, especially strength or resistance training, can help you experience optimal benefits.

Will this product make me gain weight?

Creatine does not cause fat gain. Some people may experience slight water retention inside muscles as they hydrate and repair, which can support fuller-looking muscle tone. This is not bloating or weight gain in the traditional sense.

How much creatine is in each serving?

Each scoop contains 2.5 grams of Creavitalis® creatine monohydrate. Creavitalis® is highly bioavailable, so this dose is effective on its own. If you want the full 3g daily serving of Creavitalis® creatine, you can either take a rounded scoop of Creatine Monohydrate + TruMarine® Collagen, or take 2 scoops per day to get both the full creatine serving and a full serving of TruMarine® Collagen.

How much TruMarine® Collagen is in the new Creatine Monohydrate + TruMarine® Collagen?

Each scoop contains half the daily recommended serving of TruMarine® Collagen (2.5 grams). We formulated it this way to make it easy to mix and match with other withinUs products, such as our Magnesium products or ReHydrate, so you can build a routine

Does Creatine Monohydrate + TruMarine® Collagen replace the TruMarine® Collagen I am taking daily?

This product is not intended to replace your daily TruMarine® Collagen. It is designed as an addition to your wellness routine, helping you incorporate creatine while still supporting your collagen intake.

Why combine TruMarine Collagen with Creatine?

Most creatine products stop at muscle performance. This one doesn't.

Creatine fuels fast-twitch muscle performance: strength, power output, and recovery. That part is well known. What most people don't know is what collagen adds to that picture.

Exercise doesn't just stress your muscles. It actively remodels connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. That tissue depends on glycine and arginine to repair and rebuild. TruMarine Collagen delivers both.

Glycine goes further still. Beyond its role in connective tissue, it is a precursor to glutathione, your body's primary antioxidant, supports your body's anti-inflammatory response, and is linked to improved sleep quality, which is when your body does its deepest repair work.

Arginine is a precursor to nitric oxide, which dilates blood vessels and improves the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to muscles during and after training.

Creatine alone supports muscle performance. Combined with TruMarine Collagen you are also supporting joint integrity, tissue repair, circulation, and recovery. These two ingredients are genuinely complementary. Not just bundled together because it made sense on a label, but because the science supports what each one does for the other.

When should I take creatine?

Creatine does not need to be timed precisely the way some supplements do. Consistency matters far more than timing.

That said, research suggests taking it close to your workout, either just before or just after, may offer a slight advantage for muscle performance and recovery. On rest days, timing is irrelevant. Take it whenever it fits your routine.

withinUs Creatine is combined with TruMarine Collagen, which supports connective tissue repair and recovery. Taking it post-workout means both ingredients are available when your body is actively repairing and rebuilding, which is when they are most useful.

How much water do I need to mix creatine with?

Mix well into at least 250ml of water and drink it promptly. Creatine that sits undissolved can settle at the bottom of your glass, and when swallowed that way, it draws water into your digestive tract rather than your muscles, which is the most common cause of bloating. Creavitalis is micronized for better solubility, but mixing well and drinking straight away makes a real difference.

Prefer to take it in your morning coffee? That works too. Our choice of creatine does not denature in hot liquids (like TruMarine Collagen). Mix it in, drink it promptly, and you are good to go.

Is creatine just for athletes or bodybuilders?

This is one of the most outdated ideas in the supplement industry. Creatine has been studied more extensively than almost any other supplement and the research goes well beyond athletic performance.

Creatine supports muscle retention, strength, cognitive function, reduced fatigue, and preserved lean mass. These benefits matter for everyone, not just people training for performance. Particularly for women over 40, where muscle mass naturally begins to decline and cognitive sharpness becomes a priority, creatine is one of the most well-supported supplements available.

The gym culture association stuck because athletes were the first to use it widely. But the science was never just about sport. It was always about what happens when your cells have the energy they need to function at their best.

Can I get enough creatine from food alone?

Technically yes, but not practically. Your body produces about 1 to 2 grams of creatine per day on its own. A diet that includes red meat and fish adds another 1 to 2 grams, bringing your daily total to roughly 2 to 3 grams.

The research on creatine's performance and recovery benefits consistently uses 3 to 5 grams per day. To reach that from food alone, you would need to eat roughly 750 grams to 1 kilogram of raw beef or salmon every single day. That is not realistic for most people, and cooking degrades creatine further, so cooked portions deliver even less.

Vegetarians and vegans have notably lower creatine stores and often see the most significant response when they start supplementing, simply because they are starting from a lower baseline.

A daily 3-gram serving of withinUs Creatine + TruMarine Collagen is the most efficient and consistent way to maintain the levels the research supports.

Do I need to do a loading phase when taking creatine?

No. Loading phases, where you take 20 grams or more daily for the first week, were popularized in early sports nutrition research as a way to saturate muscle creatine stores quickly. They work, but they also significantly increase the risk of digestive discomfort and are unnecessary for most people.

A consistent daily dose of 3 to 5 grams will reach the same saturation point within three to four weeks with none of the side effects. For long-term health and recovery, which is what withinUs is designed for, steady and consistent always wins over aggressive and fast.

I am over 40, is creatine right for me?

It may be one of the most important supplements you can take after 40.

Creatine production in the body naturally declines with age. The enzymes responsible for synthesis become less active, muscle mass decreases so less creatine is stored and used, and dietary intake often drops as well. Research suggests muscle creatine levels can decline 20 to 30 percent by your 50s and more significantly into your late 60s.

The benefits of supplementing become more meaningful as you age: muscle retention and strength, which matters enormously for bone density and fall prevention, reduced fatigue, preserved lean mass, and support for cognitive function, since the brain relies on phosphocreatine for energy too.

This is not a performance supplement for athletes. It is a longevity supplement for anyone who wants to stay strong, sharp, and functional as they age.

Can I take creatine with my other withinUs products?

Yes, and it was designed with that in mind.

TruMarine Collagen and Creatine are already combined in one product because the two ingredients are genuinely complementary. The amino acids in TruMarine, particularly glycine and arginine, support connective tissue repair, circulation, and recovery in ways that directly enhance what creatine does for muscle performance.

Stacking with Magnesium adds nervous system support and overnight recovery. ReHydrate supports cellular hydration, which matters because creatine draws water into muscle cells and staying well hydrated amplifies that effect.

The withinUs stack is not a collection of unrelated products. Every combination was considered.

Does creatine cause hair loss?

This concern comes from a single study published in 2009 involving rugby players who took creatine for three weeks. The study found an increase in DHT, a hormone associated with hair loss, but importantly, it did not measure or record any actual hair loss in participants.

No study has replicated these findings or established a direct link between creatine supplementation and hair loss. The current scientific consensus is that creatine does not cause hair loss.

If you have a genetic predisposition to hair loss, DHT can be a factor worth discussing with your doctor. But the evidence that creatine meaningfully raises DHT, or that doing so leads to hair loss, is not strong enough to support the concern that has spread online.

How long until I notice results from creatine?

It depends on what you are looking for and where you are starting from.

Most people notice improved energy and workout performance within two to four weeks as muscle creatine stores build up. Physical changes like improved strength and lean muscle retention take longer, typically six to eight weeks of consistent daily use.

The less visible benefits, bone density support, cognitive function, and connective tissue health, build over months. These are the benefits that matter most for long-term health, and they are not the kind you notice in a single workout. They are the kind you notice when you realize you feel stronger, sharper, and more resilient than you did a year ago.

Creatine is a long-game supplement. Take it every day and let it compound.

Is creatine safe for my kidneys?

For healthy kidneys, creatine is safe and one of the most well-researched supplements available. Decades of studies in healthy individuals have not shown creatine to cause kidney damage.

There is one thing worth knowing. When you supplement creatine, your body metabolizes more of it, which produces more creatinine, a normal waste byproduct that kidneys filter out. This can cause creatinine levels to read slightly higher on a standard blood panel, which can look like impaired kidney function. It is not. It is a measurement artifact, not a health issue. If you are supplementing creatine and getting bloodwork done, let your doctor know so they can interpret the results correctly.

If you have a history of kidney disease or reduced kidney function, the additional creatinine load is a legitimate concern. Kidneys that are already compromised are being asked to do more work. In that case, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before use.
