Ideally, one should take withinUs TruMarine® Collagen first thing in the morning or just before bed. Pour in 5 grams (1 scoop), stir, and let sit for a minute to completely dissolve. We suggest adding withinUs TruMarine™ Collagen to:
• Coffee, tea, herbal tea
• Hot water with lemon
• Smoothie/juice

withinUs TruMarine™ Collagen is virtually odourless and tasteless, and contains no artificial colouring, flavouring or additives. While the majority of our customers do not notice any taste or smell, a select few do. For those who detect a slight taste or smell, we suggest adding the product to juices, smoothies, tea with honey and lemon, water with lemon or coffee.
No, our product does not contain shellfish, or any traces of shellfish. We only use the scales of wild-caught, sustainably sourced fish.
Our 100% ultra-pure collagen (premium-select grade TruMarine® Collagen) is sourced from exclusive sustainable, wild fish found in the deep, pristine waters of the South Pacific Ocean - north of Australia and approximately 5,000 km from the coast of Japan. The ocean currents of the Southern Hemisphere are separated by the Equatorial Counter Current and are completely different from those of the North Pacific. The Kuroshio Current of Japan flows north towards North America (not south) and therefore does not impact our product.
withinUs TruMarine® Collagen is not formulated with any other ingredients, preservatives or stabilizers.
While the time frame in which results can be observed will vary, customers who take 5-10 grams of withinUs TruMarine® Collagen daily generally feel and see a difference within 4-8 weeks.
Like any supplement, in order to obtain the best results, withinUs TruMarine™ Collagen should be ingested on a daily basis.
Generally speaking, one scoop (5 grams) added into beverage or food daily is recommended for most people.
However, we recommend that those who are taking withinUs TruMarine® Collagen for joint health take two scoops (10 grams) per day.
While withinUs TruMarine® Collagen will not affect or conflict with other supplements, we always recommend that you speak with your doctor if you have concerns about taking TruMarine® Collagen in conjunction with prescription medications.

A peptide is a compound that consists of two or more amino acids. The amino acid composition of withinUs TruMarine® Collagen consists of 18 amino acids. Much different from other protein sources, collagen peptides contain a unique combination and ratio of amino acids (protein) - most importantly glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, and arginine. This ensures high absorption and high bioavailability for maximum results. Collagen peptides are not considered a complete protein because they are devoid of the amino acid tryptophan. The protein amount in our collagen is 95%, with 5% moisture content.
Collagen peptide is another term for hydrolyzed collagen. withinUs Natural Health obtains our TruMarine® collagen through a hydrolysis process which uses a proteolytic enzyme, retaining almost all the original amino acid composition. Collagen peptides are easily dissolved in hot or cold water and will not become a gel at low temperatures.

There is much confusion regarding collagen types I, II and III. The fact is that all three types can provide health benefits. More importantly (and often overlooked) is the collagen source and the manufacturing process.
Types I & III collagen are most often derived from fish (marine), cow (bovine) or pig (porcine) sources. Fish (marine collagen) is widely considered to be the superior form and the most premium source of collagen - but not all marine collagen is created equal. Type II collagen is a less popular form of collagen most commonly sourced from chicken sternum.
Note: If a collagen supplement does not list the raw material source it is very likely a lower (cheaper) grade collagen derived from bovine or porcine sources.
