Celebrating World Ocean Day
Why the ocean matters to us, and to our collagen

June 8, 2026, is World Ocean Day. It's a day to celebrate the ocean and to think honestly about the part it plays in keeping the planet livable. At withinUs, ocean health and sustainability aren't separate from how we run the business.

Why ocean health matters to us
The ocean regulates the climate, produces much of the oxygen we breathe, and supports an enormous range of life. When it's healthy, everything downstream is better off, including the quality of what we make. TruMarine Collagen comes from the sea, so the state of those waters isn't an abstract cause for us. It's tied directly to our product.

Why TruMarine® Collagen
Most collagen on the market is bovine, a byproduct of the beef industry. Cattle farming carries a high environmental cost in greenhouse gas emissions, land use and water. Marine collagen asks far less of the planet.
Ours comes from wild-caught fish in the South Pacific, sourced through fisheries that manage their stocks carefully and work to protect the wider ecosystem. That gives us a cleaner product and a sourcing story we're comfortable putting our name to.

Looking forward
We've still got work ahead. Every year, we look for the next decision that lowers our impact without lowering our standard, from how we source to how we package. World Ocean Day is a good day to say where we stand and to hold ourselves to it.
Choosing marine collagen over bovine is a small decision with a real footprint behind it, and we're glad you're making it with us.
